FTR Interrogator -
Introducing Digital Voice & Video for Interrogations
Designed To Fit Into The Law Enforcement Interrogation Environment.

FTR Interrogator is a complete digital audio/video solution designed for use by law enforcement officials during the questioning of suspects, witnesses, and victims in interview rooms. The solution enables users to capture, play back, annotate (take notes), save, manage and share these audio/video recordings in a simple and easy-to-use manner.

Interrogator is a direct replacement for VHS and Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) and can be implemented easily, without disrupting established procedures. It provides a way for law enforcement officials to easily convert from old-style VHS or DVR players to a complete solution that provides capabilities to manage recordings above and beyond simply recording the interview. Digital storage media (CD/DVD) reduces storage needs significantly.

The FTR Interrogator audio and video record made in the interrogation room is the law enforcement's version of instant replay. This allows the officer to have an accurate record of the interrogation while performing their job with optimum productivity. Recordings preserve the evidence in a way that written reports cannot. Perspectives about what occurred during interrogations are "incredibly unreliable" when compared to what is shown on the video.

FTR's video and audio record of the suspect / witness interrogations have proven to be an efficient and powerful law enforcement tool. Both methods create a permanent record of exactly what occurred. Recordings prevent disputes about officers' conduct, the treatment of suspects and statements they made. Law enforcement frequently prepare reports or testify weeks or months after the interviews. In the interim they have conducted many other interviews. Their recollections of details have faded. FTR's recordings provide them the ability to be accurate and complete.

FTR Interrogator is a complete system that consists of the following components:
  • TheRecord Recorder T
  • TheRecord AnnotatorT
  • TheRecord PlayerT
  • TheRecord AnnotatorT
  • FTR Headset
  • WordLink(R)
  • 5-pack of TheRecord DVDTM
  • CD/DVD safe water-based felt tip marker
  • A One-year Service Contract*

TheRecord PlayerT - Playing Back The Audio

Voice and speech recognition are primary concerns when recording and playing back of the recorded interrogations. Voices are not hard to hear..they sound full and are very easy to transcribe.

TheRecord PlayerT is used to play back, duplicate and share audio and video recorded by TheRecord ReporterT..

The single most important benefit of digital recording, and specifically FTR Reporter, is easy and random access to the record. With FTR Record Player loaded on a PC, and access to a copy of the previously recorded audio, you can search the record and replay recordings or specific portions of a recording with speed and simplicity. FTR Record Player brings the record right to your desktop.

The FTR Record Player allows you to play audio recorded with FTR Reporter during and after recording. Using the FTR Record Player, you can retrieve and playback audio from any digital media that contains FTR recordings. You can review an entire day of interrogations or go to a specific moment in the recording by entering the desired time. You can also specify any range of audio and save the selected audio to another digital media or network drive.

It is possible to take portions of the day's recordings and save them to a separate location. This is very useful feature when attorney's or judges wish to review specific areas of a recording at a later date, or for distributing the recordings to various transcription resources.

Although its audio and video play back features are the most advanced available, the "tape recorder-like" features and functions of TheRecord Player are easy to understand and learn.

TheRecord Player gives you complete control of the play back process. You can review an entire interrogation or pinpoint specific segments, increase or decrease the master volume or the volume of individual channels, and isolate individual channels-- all without fast forwarding or rewinding a single cassette.
